(18 months to 30 months)
The toddlers’ daily schedule is very structured. We focus on socialization, independence, language development and hands-on activities. We believe that structure and consistency is the key to a happy, safe learning environment. The curriculum is age-based and theme based.
During circle time, children are introduced to the theme and the teacher-oriented activities enable the teachers to introduce new concepts, and have the children work at the same time on specific projects and skills.
Play environment and games are used and combined with implementation of French language. Children are introduced to French songs and develop fine motor skills during finger play.
We also use child-oriented activities through various learning stations that are available to the children. Those stations let the children decide on which specific area they would like to work. The teacher is always nearby to observe and ready to assist if needed and as needed. The teacher’s role is also to help the children master a skill they have decided to acquire and to challenge them if a skill is already mastered.
Large motor skills are also developed during our daily gym class and include walking, running, skipping, jumping, throwing, climbing and many others.
